It is astonishing that when the electorate cannot make their minds up decisively how business just slows down. As potential consumers and car lease buyers hug their radios and digital TV, their first concerns are more likely to be about whether they still have a job, or how will thier business survive without direct leadership, what will happen to their mortgages, before they reconsider any dream car lease deal.
It is likely the colour brochure of their next intend car is hidden under paperwork, as the update on the hung Parliament dominates the day. Certainly within car lease comparison websites, such as Leasebam hits and requests are well down, even though Friday is one of the quietest days anyway. But as history is made or repeated depending on who you watch or listen too, it does bring into perspective how fragile businesses can be when the political landscape is uncertain, and that applies to the UK car lease market as much as any other.
